Analyzing My Table of Contents
In my table of contents I added features to attract my target audience and to keep them engaged. First off, my models are within the age range of my target audience, they are 18. They are obviously happy and smiling, wearing bright colored clothes, (yellow and bright blue) and have flowers in their hair which is just the right aesthetic that I was going for. This picture was nice and girly and really feminine in my opinion which is perfect because I am trying to reach a female audience. Behind the models are pictures of plants and orchids that I took myself and they tie in the feminine aspect once again.
The articles are made specifically to target all type of women so I want to go into an analysis of my articles since that is kind of the main focus in a table of contents. In my articles I made sure to include different age ranges and interests. For example, in the first article I included a reading list for people who read more and in my last article I included a free recipe for people who cook.
By adding in a recipe page I engaged the reader because if they like to cook, they might want to try a new recipe and that will persuade them to purchase the magazine.
Additionally, I had an article about two 18 year old entrepreneurs who started a flower business. This article pulls in the younger crowd because they see this and think wow I wonder how they accomplished a business at such a young age, maybe I can do the same. Similarly, I pulled in the mom crowd by adding the article about how a busy mom is able to maintain a makeup routine which could be inspiring to a part of my audience.
Another aspect that I included was an interactive chart which the reader can fill out that I promoting with pronouns like "you" by using that pronoun I was able to establish a connection with my audience, as if I were speaking to them directly with engages them further. Lastly, I included a coupon article which will inspire the reader to buy the magazine in order to save money at stores they enjoy.
Overall, I believe I included various aspects into my table of contents that prove a 15-30 year old audience will not only glance at this magazine but also purchase it and enjoy it.
